From
a very young age I was committed to helping others
heal, at that time I thought the path lie through
traditional medicine. I was a Licensed Practical Nurse
for 10 years. What I discovered was that the body
is just one facet of the self that needs healing.
I left that arena and studied a variety of spiritual
and alternative healing practices, once again I discovered
this addressed just one facet of the self. I, then,
attended the University of South Florida where I received
an undergraduate degree in Social Work with a focus
in religion and women's studies. I followed this by
receiving a Master's degree in Social Work from the
University of South Florida. After working for several
years I completed a Certificate Program in Sexology/Sex
Therapy at The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists
and a Hypnotherapy Certification at The Southern Institute
of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Since graduation I worked in a variety of public milieus
before entering private practice. I did a stint at
a free standing psychiatric hospital where I worked
with children, adolescents, and adults. From there,
I worked with The Hillsborough County School System
as a school social worker, providing services for
homeless, underprivileged and emotionally handicapped
children and families. Then I was Clinical Director
at Tampa Aids Network followed by providing services
as Clinical Director for Tampa Jewish Family Services.
Upon moving to the Atlanta area I worked as Clinical
Director at Family Intervention Specialists, Inc.
I continue to study and research the areas that most
impact our quality of life. I bring to every session
my education, my work experience plus my experience
as a daughter, mother, life partner and friend to
the therapy room. This whole life experience allows
me to meet you where ever you are to start your journey
to wholeness together.
